Univision Local Media Chief Walker Leaving

After almost a year heading the Spanish-language network’s O&Os, Peter Walker is leaving "to pursue opportunities in Chicago."

Peter Walker, president of Univision Local Media for just about a year, has decided to leave the company effective June 3 “to pursue opportunities in Chicago,” according to a staff memo from Univision EVP-COO Randy Falco.

Falco says “for the time being, Kevin Cuddihy and Jose Valle will report to me and work closely with David Lawenda, Kevin Conroy and other members of the leadership team to coordinate and direct our company’s resources into local markets.

“During his tenure here, Peter has made strong contributions to Univision and has helped us integrate our local business. His passion for local broadcast media and commitment to the company helped us navigate through challenging economic times and the PPM changes. He worked with Kevin Conroy in helping launch our local sites, recruited Jose and promoted Kevin Cuddihy.

“Please join me in thanking Peter for his contributions to Univision and wish him the best in his new endeavors.”
