Univision Nets To Launch On DirecTV Now

The launch is part of a cross-platform agreement that includes carriage of Univision networks across AT&T and DirecTV platforms.

Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) on Tuesday announced that as part of a multiplatform distribution agreement for its networks and stations UCI will be included on the new AT&T streaming service, DirecTV Now.

As part of this launch, DirecTV Now will offer the Univision Stations, Univision Network, UniMás, Galavisión, UDN (Univision Deportes Network) as well as the Fusion network.

In addition to UCI networks launching on DirecTV Now, UCI will continue to distribute its portfolio of Spanish- and English-language content across existing AT&T and DirecTV platforms.

The expanded agreement also includes TV Everywhere rights and allows for DirecTV and AT&T U-verse customers to stream UCI’s live and on-demand content.

DirecTV Now, launching in the fourth quarter of this year, will offer customers access to more than 100 channels, including live and on-demand programming from top networks, as well as premium add-on options. Customers will be able to access and stream the service over a wired or wireless Internet connection using a variety of connected devices without requiring additional hardware, satellites, long-term contracts or credit checks.
