WAGA Names Cynne Simpson Evening Anchor
Fox O&O WAGA Atlanta (DMA 9) today added Cynne Simpson as anchor of its weekday newscasts, Fox 5 News at 5 p.m. and Fox 5 News at 10 p.m.
Most recently, Simpson anchored the weekday morning and noon news at WJLA Washington. Before that, she was 6 p.m. anchor at WGCL Atlanta. Prior to that, Simpson held general assignment reporter positions with KCTV Kansas City, Mo., and WNDU South Bend, IN.
Simpson began her career as a Lionel Chapman Fellow for ABC News’ Nightline.
A graduate of Howard University, Simpson holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in Spanish.
