WAND Promotes Anchor, Expands Noon News

NBC affiliate WAND Champaign-Springfield-Decatur, Ill. (DMA 84), has promoted Marianne Manko from interim to permanent anchor.

According to Tai Takahashi, WAND news director, “Marianne will continue to co-anchor the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts with Sean Streaty. She has done a great job as interim anchor here and has proven herself to be a tremendous asset to the team.”

Manko worked in Orlando, Fla., as a reporter and weather anchor helping in major hurricane disasters. Before moving to WAND she reported for KRGV Harlingen, Texas.

On Monday, Jan. 27, WAND will expand its noon newscast to one hour, anchored by Samantha Singer.
