I hope CBS decides to provide this to cable/sattelite subscribers throught their on demand channels and digitally. Otherwise, most of us will never see it.
I.e. “The series is set to premiere with a “special preview broadcast” on CBS Television Network in January 2017, with that pilot and all subsequent first-run episodes to then be streamed weekly in the United States on CBS All Access…”
WIth this “all access” (translation: all PAY TV) strategy, CBS declares war on free over the air broadcast TV — a classic case of throwing the baby out with the bath water by making broadcast affiliate network TV a stepchild of pay TV greedsters. This former TV trade editor will do everything in his power to alert members of Congress and public interest groups to the CBS betrayal of its OTA viewers — and its station affiliates.
It seems to me, PhillyPhlash, That CBS is picking up on what Wheeler and the FCC wants to do ~ destroy broadcast television. FCC/Wheeler through this stupid auction and repack wants to get rid of channels 30-51 so only channels 2-29 would be available for broadcast television. Hundreds of TV stations will be lost in the process; some through the auction, and others through interference issues. And CBS wants to do their part by putting the ‘Star Trek’ reboot and a untitled spinoff of ‘The Good Wife’ on All Access. What, CBS, these shows are not good enough for your broadcast network??? More people watch shows on broadcast networks than on cable/satellite or streaming services and everyone knows it!
Amen to that. Where are the RESPONSIBLE broadcasters? Time for another “Save free TV” campaign like the one indie stations did back in the ’90s (when I was CableVision editor)
FreeRights….Seriously?? Most of US “will never see it”? And you are FreeRightsUSA?? Something is wrong with this. If you are FreeRights, please believe in FREE OTA broadcast.

Your cable/satellite provider doesn’t carry CBS?
