WATE Producing Morning Show For WBXX

CW affiliate WBXX Knoxville, Tenn. (DMA 61), is launching a new morning news program. CW20’s Good Day Tennessee will feature local news, weather and traffic, with content provided by ABC affiliate WATE. The program will air weekday mornings from 7 to 9 a.m. and premieres on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015.

“For the past 3 years, WBXX and WATE have enjoyed a strong partnership with our 10

p.m. newscast,” says Neal Davis, WBXX’s general manager. “This agreement fortifies our relationship and allows WBXX to bring an additional two hours of quality news to the people of East Tennessee every weekday morning.”

The 10 p.m. newscast currently airing on WBXX is produced by WATE and regularly features anchor Kristin Farley and meteorologist Matt Hinkin.

“This is a great opportunity to expand our partnership with WBXX,” says Jamie Foster, news director at WATE. “Additionally, it allows us to expand our “On Your Side” brand from Good Morning Tennessee right into CW20’s Good Day Tennessee. It will be a place for people to get all of their breaking news, weather, and traffic, but also learn about some of the great events and people who make East Tennessee such a fun place to live.”
