The Young Broadcasting Knoxville ABC affiliate will supply Lockwood’s CW affil with a 35-minute newscast seven days a week starting in August.

In Knoxville, Tenn. (DMA 59), Young Broadcasting’s ABC affiliate WATE and Lockwood Broadcasting’s CW affil WBXX announced that beginning early next month, WATE will produce a 35-minute newscast at 10 p.m. that will air on WBXX seven days a week.

Kristin Farley will anchor the new newscast.

“We’re glad to be back in the 10 p.m. time slot,” said Jamie Foster, WATE news director. “A lot of viewers have asked if were going to do a 10 p.m. news again. We know they’ll be as excited as we are.”

“CW 20 is excited to serve the Knoxville and East Tennessee area with 35 minutes of local news at 10,” said Neal Davis, WBXX general manager.

“We are privileged to be broadcasting news on the leading CW station in the nation,” said Dan Phillippi, general manager of WATE. WATE will be switching to high definition broadcasts for both stations later in the fall.
