WAVY Norfolk Adds 4:30 A.M. News

The LIN NBC affiliate is moving up its weekday morning news by a half-hour starting Oct. 24.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 24, LIN Television’s NBC affiliate WAVY Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, Va. (DMA 43), will begin its morning news a half-hour earlier — at 4:30 a.m.

The station’s morning newscast will continue to be anchored by Kerri Furey and Don Roberts with meteorologist Jeremy Wheeler, traffic reporter Cheryl Tan and Chopper 10 Pilot John Massey.

“More and more viewers are waking up early to begin their day in Hampton Roads,” said WAVY President-GM Doug Davis. “WAVY News 10 Today now begins at 4:30 a.m. every weekday to bring viewers the latest overnight news and all the weather and traffic they need for the day ahead.”
