WBND Names Brian Conybeare Evening Anchor

Weigel Broadcasting’s ABC affiliate WBND-LD South Bend, Ind. (DMA 96) today appointed Brian Conybeare evening news anchor, effective in January 2018.

Conybeare will join co-anchor Colleen Bormann on the 5, 5:30, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, as well as the 10 p.m. newscast on co-owned CW affiliate WCWW. Conybeare will also be in the field reporting and storytelling throughout Michiana. 

Conybeare returns home to South Bend from New York where he has been a reporter and anchor for WCBS and News12 Westchester. Conybeare also served as a special adviser to New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo.   

He is a University of Michigan graduate.
