WBNS Sets Multiplatform Election Coverage

With an eye toward Election Day, Dispatch Broadcast Group’s CBS affiliate WBNS Columbus, Ohio (DMA 32) is offering free airtime to candidates in major races during broadcasts of 10TV News and making these segments available on demand through 10tv.com, the station’s website.

Central Ohioans will have a new election resource with WBNS’ online voters guide at 10TV.com/votersguide. There, visitors can type in their address and see a list of issues and races that will appear on their ballot on Election Day.

10TV’s new weekly political talk program Capitol Square, hosted by Jim Heath and Tracy Townsend, will feature interviews and roundtable discussions with newsmakers, officials and reporters about issues impacting our community and our state.

On Election Night, Nov. 6, WBNS, subchannel 10.2 and 10TV.com will provide both national election coverage from CBS News and sustaining local coverage from 10TV News.

Coverage begins at 7 p.m. with an hour-long special local special on WBNS. This special will also be streamed on 10TV.com.

As CBS News begins its national election night coverage at 8 p.m., WBNS will continue its commitment to all-local coverage on ch. 10.2.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

“Our commitment to the viewers of central Ohio is our biggest priority,” said Tom Griesdorn, president-GM of WBNS.
