WBNS To Launch Quarterly News Series

Dispatch Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate WBNS Columbus, Ohio (DMA 32), is about to premiere a quarterly news special series that will feature local news, interviews and stories about central Ohio.

Each 60-minute edition of 10TV News Presents comprises four long-form segments. The program will debut Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. and will subsequently air April 25, June 27 and October 24.

The premiere edition will feature the following stories:

The Urban Era—In his first extensive interview since being named OSU football coach, Urban Meyer opens up to Andrea Cambern about the discussions leading up to the deal, his family’s struggles with the decision and his determination to take the Buckeyes to glory.

The Family of Firehouse 18—Life inside one of the busiest firehouses in Columbus is not everything one might think. Jerry Revish spends 21 hours there, giving viewers a look at the people who serve on the front line.

A Hero’s Healing—Staff Sergeant Doug Reed, father of seven, went to Afghanistan with his National Guard unit and suffered horrific wounds when he was struck by a rocket propelled grenade. Glenn McEntyre takes viewers inside the effort to save his life on the battlefield and the emotionally draining year-long effort to rehabilitate him. Now, Doug Reed is back on the job as fire chief in Jackson, Ohio.

John Glenn:  American Legend—John Glenn orbited the earth 50 years ago this month.  Jerry Revish sits down with the 90-year-old hero to reflect on his life as an American icon.
