WBTW Adds Meteorologists Spencer, Phillips
Media General’s CBS affiliate WBTW Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C. (DMA 103) today announced two new hires.
Martha Spencer becomes the station’s weekday morning and noon meteorologist, and Andrew Phillips is its new weekend meteorologist.
Spencer joins WBTW from WTVY Dothan, Ala., where she was morning meteorologist. In 2011, she received the National Weather Association Television Broadcasters Seal. Martha graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., with a bachelor’s degree in applied meteorology.
Phillips join from WMBF, the Myrtle Beach-Florence NBC affiliate. Before that he interned at WAGA Atlanta and Peachtree City, Georgia’s National Weather Service. He graduated from The University of Georgia with bachelor’s degrees in both geography and atmospheric science.
