WBTW Names Dana Brown Ritter ND

Media General moves her from executive producer at its WAVY Norfolk, Va., to head news operations at its Myrtle Beach, S.C., CBS affil.

Media General’s CBS affiliate WBTW Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C. (DMA 102), has hired Dana Brown Ritter as news director, effective Jan. 26, 2015. 

She will oversee all aspects of WBTW’s news broadcasts, content for the station’s website and the station’s mobile efforts.

Ritter has been executive producer of Media General’s WAVY Norfolk, Va., since January 2013. Earlier in her career (2003-2006), she was a news producer for WAVY. 

Before her return to WAVY, she worked for the CBN News Washington bureau as White House producer and executive producer of the political show The Brody File which aired nationally on the ABC Family Channel.

She has also been a producer for the Hearst TV Washington bureau, WTAE Pittsburgh and WSLS Roanoke, Va.

She graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., in 2000 where she majored in communication studies.
