WCAU Names Connors Weekend A.M. Anchor

NBC-owned WCAU Philadelphia (DMA 4) today named Rosemary Connors as its new weekend morning anchor. Connors will anchor NBC10 News Saturday mornings from 5:30 to 7 a.m. and 9 to 10 a.m., and NBC10 News Sunday mornings from 5:30 to 8 a.m. and 9 to 10 a.m. She will continue to report during the week.

Connors joined WCAU in June 2009. She was the station’s political reporter for the 2012 Republican and Democratic National Conventions, the debates and the inauguration. She was one of WCAU’s lead reporters on the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal and was part of the team that received a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for coverage of the story.

She also won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for her role in the team coverage of a deadly gas explosion in Northeast Philadelphia in January of 2011. In addition, she was named News MVP by the Delaware County Daily Times in 2012.

Connors is is currently studying part-time at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and is expected to graduate in May 2014. She holds a B.A. in sociology with a concentration in law and society from the University of Pennsylvania. As a Penn undergrad, Connors interned with the WCAU Investigators and NBC’s Today show in New York.
