WCBS Claims Parade Viewing Victory
CBS O&O WCBS New York says it attracted the largest audience in the market for the Giants’ Super Bowl victory parade and City Hall celebration on Tuesday.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., WCBS had an average of 244,000 viewers, it claimed, which topped WNBC (239,000), WABC (210,000), WNYW (186,000), WPIX (85,000) and WWOR (29,000).
The station said it also was first in the men 25-54 demo with a 1.4 rating, double that of second-place WNBC (0.7). WABC (0.5) and WNYW (0.5) tied for third place in men 25-54, followed by WPIX (0.4) and WWOR (0.2).
WCBS’s coverage included reports and commentary by news anchors Maurice DuBois, Chris Wragge and Don Dahler (who broadcast live from a parade float using the station’s Mobile 2 technology); sports anchors Otis Livingston and Lisa Kerney; WFAN-AM morning show host Craig Carton and former Giants receiver Amani Toomer.
