WCMH Announces Jym Ganahl’s Final Regular Forecast

Media General-owned NBC affiliate WCMH Columbus, Ohio (DMA 31), announced today that Jym Ganahl will give his final regularly scheduled weather forecast on Friday, Sept. 4, after 50 years in broadcasting.

“For the past 37 years, Jym has made it his personal mission to keep Central Ohio safe during severe weather and help people plan their lives,” said Ken Freedman, WCMH VP-GM. “He’s always done it with a touch of humor and a dose of interesting facts and anyone who’s watched him knows there’ll be three snowfalls after the first forsythia bloom, or the cicada noise of late spring means the first fall frost is 90 days away.  All of us at NBC4 are happy Jym will get to achieve his personal goal of broadcasting weather for 50 years.”

WCMH plans to celebrate  Ganahl’s career through the summer with stories about his career and contributions, documenting his history of reporting weather for our region and keeping viewers safe.

The stations said Ganahl will continue to contribute to WCMH as he begins planning the next chapter in his career.
