WCVB Slots 10 P.M. News On Subchannel

Maria Stephanos and Ed Harding to co-anchor an hour-long, live newscast on WCVB's MeTV subchannel.

Beginning Feb. 29, Hearst-owned ABC affiliate WCVB  Boston (DMA 8), will launch a live hour of news at 10 p.m. every day entitled The 10 O’Clock News on MeTV Boston. WCVB airs MeTV on ch. 5.2.

Anchors Maria Stephanos and Ed Harding will co-anchor the weeknight newscasts with chief meteorologist Harvey Leonard and sports anchor Mike Lynch. The 10 O’Clock News on MeTV Boston weekend team will be announced shortly.

“Launching The 10 O’Clock News on MeTV Boston will bolster MeTV Boston’s presence in the market while giving WCVB the opportunity to compete in this time period which is clearly relevant and important to viewers,” said Bill Fine, WCVB president-GM.

They should run old newscasts from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s to keep with the program flow.
