WDBJ Names David Hughes News Director

He joins the Gray CBS affiliate in Roanoke, Va., from WFLA Tampa, Fla., where he’s been executive producer since 2011.

 

Gray Television-owned CBS affiliate WDBJ Roanoke, Va. (DMA 69), on Tuesday named David Hughes news director. His first day on the job will be July 11.

Hughes succeeds Kelly Zuber who recently retired after 34 years at the station.

Hughes currently is the executive producer at WFLA Tampa, Fla., a role he’s held since 2011. He previously worked at WRAL Raleigh, N.C., and WMAZ Macon, Ga.

He received his B.A. in mass communications from Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C.
