Tribune promotes the former local sales manager at its Washington CW affiliate to general sales manager.
WDCW Ups Glenn Coleman To GSM
WDCW, the Tribune owned CW affiliate in Washington (DMA 9), today named Glenn L. Coleman general sales manager. Coleman’s promotion to GSM is effective immediately.
Coleman moves up from local sales manager, a position he has held since 2009. In his new role as GSM, he will oversee the station’s entire sales force including local and national sales, new business and Internet sales.
Prior to joining Tribune in 2009, Coleman was the local sales manager of KTXA Dallas-Ft. Worth, part of the CBS Television Stations duopoly there. Coleman started his career in 2000 with Viacom Television Stations (currently CBS Television Stations) in Atlanta, as a business development account executive with WUPA-. In 2002, he moved to KTXA to become an account executive on the Agency Team. In 2004, at age 25, he became CBS’s youngest local sales manager.
Coleman is a 2000 graduate of LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication, where he majored in broadcast journalism with a minor in marketing. He is also a 2010 graduate of the National Association of Broadcasters Broadcast Leadership Training Program.
