The morning news team at WDJT Milwaukee is now waking up a little earlier.

The Weigel-owned CBS affiliate is adding an extra half-hour to its morning broadcast, beginning at 4:30 a.m., anchored by Nate Kuester and Jessica Tighe.

“We feel it is important to give our viewers an even earlier start to their morning,” says Genie Garner, WDJT news director. “When you wake up, what happened overnight, and what the weather is going to be for the day ahead is very important information. Our expanding coverage will give morning Milwaukee news viewers more choices in the morning.”

Additionally, veteran anchor/reporter Mike Strehlow is moving from the station’s Sunday and weekday 9 p.m. broadcast and will now anchor the station’s News at Noon show. Strehlow will continue to do some reporting for the evening newscasts, says Garner.
