WDRB Adds Education Reporter To News Staff

Continuing a long string of recent hires of former print journalists, Fox affiliate WDRB Louisville, Ky. (DMA 49), has hired former Louisville Courier-Journal education writer Antoinette Konz for the station’s news website, WDRB.com.

Konz has dedicated her seven-year career at the Courier-Journal to reporting on area schools. She has covered education issues at all grade levels and also has a background in law enforcement.

Her addition to WDRB.com brings the total number of former Courier-Journal staffers now working at WDRB to seven. The others are Rick Bozich, Eric Crawford, Marcus Green, Jason Riley, Chris Otts and John David Dyche.

Commenting on the addition of Konz to his station’s news staff, WDRB President-GM Bill Lamb said: “WDRB.com already offers the most original content in the Louisville market, but we can’t stop there. Going forward we want to add an emphasis on education, and there is no reporter with more experience on the education beat than Toni Konz. She will add even more depth to an already deep team of journalists and we’re thrilled she’s joining us.”

In addition to her online role, Konz will also contribute periodically to WDRB newscasts. She begins her duties immediately.
