Weiner To Anchor 10 P.M. News on WBAL Subchannel

Hearst-owned NBC affiliate WBAL Baltimore (DMA 26) says that on March 1, anchor Deborah Weiner’s role will expand to include anchoring WBAL-TV 11 News at 10:00PM, seen weeknights on the station’s MeTV Baltimore subchannel. She will also contribute to the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts on WBAL, as well as continuing her role as a member of the WBAL-TV 11 News I-Team.

WBAL-TV 11 News at 10:00PM on MeTV Baltimore premiered on March 5, 2012. It is the only original, live newscast seen on a multicast channel in the Baltimore market, and is broadcast seven days a week. MeTV Baltimore can be seen over the air on WBAL 11.2, on Comcast Xfinity ch. 208, Broadstripe Cable ch. 165 and Verizon FiOS ch. 460.

WBAL also announced that Kate Amara will shift her role to lead political correspondent as 11 News further intensifies its Commitment 2016 political coverage. Amara will focus the station’s campaign coverage leading up to Maryland’s primary election and the November general election.

Filling the weekend morning anchor seat vacated by Deborah Weiner’s move to weekdays will be Lacee Griffith, who joins WBAL from WBOC Salisbury, Md., where she was a weekday morning news anchor. She will join Jennifer Franciotti, co-anchoring the Saturday and Sunday morning editions of 11 News. Griffith will work as a reporter during the weekdays.
