‘Wendy Williams Show’ On A Roll

It’s taken the better part of four seasons and countless brushes with cancellation but it seems The Wendy Williams Show may finally be finding its groove. The Debmar-Mercury show had its best-ever rating the week ending Jan. 15, according to Nielsen. And, among women 25-54, it ranked No. 6 out of 13 syndicated talk shows.

In households, Wendy had a 1.4 live-plus-same-day rating, up 17% from the prior week. The show ranked No. 10 out of 13 talk shows — all aired original episodes. NBCUniversal’s Steve Wilkos trailed behind with a 1.3 rating. Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Production’s Nate Berkus had a 1.1 and Debmar-Mercury’s Jeremy Kyle had a 0.6.

Warner Bros.’ Anderson has also recently been popping. It ranked just ahead of Wendy with a 1.5 HH rating (tied with NBCU’s Jerry Springer).

Wendy did better in women 25-54. The show ranked No. 6 with a 1.1 rating. The show trailed Sony and Harpo’s Dr. Oz (1.8), CBS Television Distribution’s Dr. Phil (1.7) and NBCU’s Maury (1.6). Warner Bros.’ Ellen had a 1.5 and Disney-ABC’s Live! with Kelly had a 1.5.

Wendy is hosted by one-time radio host Wendy Williams. The show tapes in New York City and has secured two-year renewals through 2013-14, including in top markets on Fox TV Station’s WNYW New York, KTTV Los Angeles and WFLD Chicago.
