WEVV Names Jeffrey Fisher General Manager

New owner Bayou City Broadcasting picks market sales veteran to run the CBS-Fox affiliate in Evansville, Ind.

Bayou City Broadcasting has named Jeffrey Fisher general manager of WEVV, its CBS and Fox affiliate in Evansville, Ind. (DMA 103). Bayou City Broadcasting closed on its purchase of WEVV from Nexstar Broadcasting on Jan. 1. Fisher succeeds Tim Black.

Fisher is a 29-year broadcast sales veteran who has worked in the Evansville market since 1986. Since 2005, he has been the director of sales of WTVW (CW) and WEHT (ABC) there.

“Jeff’s proven track record of success in sales management with two stations in one market and his obvious knowledge and commitment to the Evansville television community made him the ideal candidate for general manager of WEVV,” said Bayou City CEO DuJuan McCoy.

Fisher said: “I am so happy to be able to have fulfilled my professional goal of becoming a general manager in my home market, and I could not have been more fortunate than to have achieved that goal with such a vibrant and exciting company as Bayou City.”

Congrats to Jeff Fisher and WEVV. Jeff is all about class and dignity. He’s good people. He’s not only a passionate broadcasting veteran, but an advocate for quality local news in Evansville. And he’s going to have fun putting together a whole news department there.
