WFLD Adds Anthony Ponce To ‘Good Day Chicago’

Fox O&O WFLD Chicago (DMA 3) on Monday hired Anthony Ponce to anchor with Natalie Bomke on Good Day Chicago weekdays from 4 to 6 a.m. He starts Monday, March 19.

Most recently, he created a podcast called “Backseat Rider” on the Podcast One network. It features him driving a Lyft, and interviewing passengers on a variety of topics.

In addition to his Good Day Chicago duties, Ponce will deliver a video version of his podcast, produced and branded by WFLD, during the 7 to 9 a.m. hours on Good Day Chicago.

Previously, Ponce was an anchor and reporter for WMAQ Chicago for nine years, until his departure in 2016 (to start the podcast).  

Prior to that, he also worked at WISH Indianapolis and WANE Fort Wayne, Ind.

He is a graduate of Indiana University and Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism.
