WFTS Tampa Taps Laura Harris As 5:30 Anchor

Current host of The Now Tampa Bay Laura Harris, will take on additional responsibilities at Scripps-owned ABC affiliate WFTS Tampa, Fla. (DMA 13). Harris has been named co-anchor of ABC Action News at 5:30 p.m. alongside Brendan McLaughlin effective immediately.

Harris joined the WFTS ABC Action news team in July 2012. She has spent years as a reporter in the field covering stories all over the Tampa Bay area.

She was named host of the station’s 4 p.m. information program, The Now Tampa Bay, when in launched in September 2014.

Prior to joining ABC Action News, Harris anchored and reported for multiple stations in South Carolina and Georgia, as well as CNN Sports.
