WFXT Ups Paul McGonagle To News Director

The Boston Fox O&O promotes its assistant news director to succeed Lisa Hall.

Paul McGonagle today was named VP-news director of Fox O&O WFXT Boston (DMA 7).  Effective immediately, McGonagle will oversee all editorial, business and administrative functions for WFXT. He succeeds Lisa Hall who left last Friday after 14 years at the station.

Most recently, McGonagle was assistant news director of WFXT, a position he has held since 2004. Prior to that, McGonagle was a general assignment reporter for WJAR Providence, R.I., then was promoted to Assistant News Director.

Earlier in McGonagle’s career, he was an investigative reporter for KGAN Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He began his broadcasting career as a reporter and anchor for WNNE Burlington, Vt.

McGonagle graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s Degree in communications and politics.
