WGCL, WUVG Form News Sharing Partnership

The CBS and Univision outlets in Atlanta will work together on regional and national news.

In Atlanta (DMA 10), Meredith-owned CBS affiliate WGCL and Univision-owned WUVG announced today a new partnership through which the two stations will share content daily, bringing current regional and national news to the multicultural, cross-generational audience of Atlanta.

“With the dramatic growth of the Hispanic population in the greater Atlanta area and the quality journalism being produced by Univision, the partnership extends our coverage deeper into this important community that Univision News understands and covers daily,” said WGCL VP-GM Mark Pimentel.

“Partnering with CBS46 allows us to offer Atlanta viewers expanded, relevant local news coverage at a time when the unity of our communities is more important than ever,” said Univision Atlanta VP-GM Eddy Elguezabal. “The collaboration recognizes the truly multicultural nature of our city and the growing impact that Hispanics have on our local culture, economy and politics in Georgia and the U.S. as a whole. This partnership is a testament to Univision Atlanta’s and CBS46’s shared dedication and commitment to serving our communities.”
