WGN Chicago Expanding Weekend Morning News

Tribune-owned CW affiliate WGN Chicago (DMA 3) is expanding its WGN Saturday Morning News and WGN Sunday Morning News by an hour beginning Sept. 10, changing from its original time of 6-7 a.m. to 7-9.

The expanded newscast will be anchored by Sean Lewis and Tonya Francisco with weather by meteorologist Mike Hamernik.

Tonya Francisco is being promoted to anchor from general assignment reporter. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago who began her television career as a desk assistant at WLS Chicago. She joined CLTV in December of 2002 and was soon promoted to morning anchor.

Sean Lewis joined CLTV in March 2007 and WGN in June 2008. He has been anchoring WGN Saturday Morning News and WGN Sunday Morning News since its launch in October 2010. In addition, he files reports for WGN Evening News and WGN News at Nine during the week.

Prior to CLTV and WGN, Lewis was weekend anchor at WWBT Richmond, Va. He graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
