WHAM To Launch News On CW Subchannel
Beginning Jan. 1, Newport Television’s ABC affiliate WHAM Rochester, N.Y. (DMA 80), will begin broadcasting a half-hour of local news, weather and sports at 10 p.m. on Rochester’s CW, the station’s 13.2 subchannel. This live newscast, 13WHAM News on Rochester’s CW, will air seven days a week.
“We have a commitment to this community to be the leaders in local news and weather,” said Chuck Samuels, VP-GM WHAM. “We are extremely excited to expand our news product, and give the people of Rochester a convenient alternative to the late news.”
WHAM has been broadcasting all its newscasts in high definition since September and 13WHAM News at 10 on Rochester’s CW will also be broadcast in HD.
