WideOrbit Widens Orbit With OneDomain Buy

With the purchase of OneDomain, the leading provider of traffic and billing software to the U.S. TV station market has picked up complementary media planning, research and analytics software.

WideOrbit, the dominant traffic and billing software provider in the U.S., today announced it has purchased OneDomain, a provider of complementary media planning, research and business intelligence software for stations and media agencies.

Terms were not disclosed.

The deal is WideOrbit second major acquisition is as many years. In October 2010, it purchased VCI Solutions, a rival in the T&B business. That left only Harris as a major competitor in the market.

In making the announcement, WideOrbit said it plans to integrate OneDomain software into its own, taking the best of each product to provide “the most advanced, best-of-breed sales, CRM and proposal solution…”

About half of OneDomain’s clients now use WideOrbit’s traffic software, the company noted.

“We are very pleased to acquire OneDomain,” said WideOrbit CEO Eric Mathewson. “OneDomain has a great reputation for building quality software products….”

BRAND CONNECTIONS

OneDomain was incorporated October 2001 and has provided television and radio broadcasters with software that allow sales professionals to analyze ratings and intelligently target their approaches to selling time slots to advertisers.

Since its first major product release in November 2003, OneDomain has installed more than 600 television and radio stations with MediaOffice, its core advertising sales and proposal system.

“We are extremely confident that WideOrbit will carry on the work that OneDomain has started with our customers and partners,” said OneDomain CEO Charles Welden.

“We have been integrated with WideOrbit’s core WO Traffic product for many years and are now excited to be integrated with the balance of their team. We believe that joining our products and domain expertise will greatly enhance the experience for our joint clients.”

Maybe Nielsen will buy Wide Orbit……….hmmm
