William Sally To Lead Nexstar’s East Region

He will oversee Nexstar markets in Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Indiana, Alabama and Maryland with have direct responsibility for those markets’ general managers,

Nexstar Broadcasting Group today named William Sally senior vice president and regional manager, East region, a new position at the company. Sally’s appointment is effective today and he will report to Tim Busch, co-chief operating officer of Nexstar.

In his new role, Sally will oversee several Nexstar east regional markets in Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Indiana, Alabama and Maryland. He will also have direct responsibility of the selected market general managers, their strategic planning and corporate and regional initiatives involving Nexstar’s on-air and digital platforms.

Nexstar said Sally “will work across the Nexstar organization and with other corporate personnel to administer policies and procedures to improve operating efficiencies and further enhance the effectiveness and service of the company’s East region operations. Additionally, he will be responsible for executing and monitoring action plans aimed at achieving corporate and regional business objectives and financial goals.”

Sally’s broadcasting career includes local and national sales, station operations, on-air talent, news programming production and various management positions. He most recently was the VP-GM of WXXA in Albany, N.Y.

Prior to joining WXXA, Sally was the VP-GM of WFFF and WVNY Burlington, Vt., KEYT Santa Barbara, Calif., where he held all roles of sales management.  In his early career he held local sales and news positions at WKTV Utica, N.Y.

Sally will work out of Nexstar-owned WROC Rochester, N.Y.
