WJBK Sponsoring Junior Zoo Reporter Contest

Fox O&O WJBK Detroit (DMA 11) and the Detroit Zoological Society are teaming up to give three lucky children from Metro Detroit an opportunity to be reporters for the day and tape a report at Detroit Zoo animal habitat for WJBK news.

The station is inviting parents of children ages 7 to 12 to submit a video via MyFoxDetroit.com of their youngster delivering a report on their favorite zoo animal. The videos must be one minute or less in length and submitted by June 29. Fifteen finalists will be selected at random and their videos will be placed on MyFoxDetroit.com.

Beginning July 4, WJBK will invite its viewers to vote for their favorite Junior Zoo Reporter candidate. The winners will be notified via e-mail on or about July 31.

Each of the three Junior Zoo Reporters will tape a news feature segment at the Detroit Zoo which will air on WJBK newscasts in August, September and October, respectively. Full details on the Junior Zoo Reporter competition are available here.
