WJLA Expanding NewsChannel 8’s 10 P.M. Newscast

Sinclair-owned ABC affiliate WJLA Washington (DMA 7) said Wednesday that on Monday, Feb. 15, co-owned cable news channel NewsChannel 8’s Late Night Report will be expanding from 30 minutes to a full hour, and will be renamed NewsChannel 8 at 10pm. 

The new hour-long 10 p.m. newscast will be anchored by veteran WJLA journalists Jonathan Elias and Michelle Marsh, with late and overnight weather forecasts from WJLA meteorologist Steve Rudin. Elias and Marsh also anchor ABC7 News at 4pm.   

“With everything we have going on in our lives, 10 p.m. is a perfect time to catch up on the day’s news for so many of us,” said WJLA Director of News Mitch Jacob. “Backed by the largest team of local reporters in the area, NewsChannel 8 at 10pm is sure to become the newscast of record for many Washington news viewers.”
