WJLA Hires Morning Anchor Adrianna Hopkins

Sinclair-owned ABC affliliate WJLA Washington (DMA 7) is adding anchor Adrianna Hopkins to its Good Morning Washington beginning May 29.

She joins the station from WDSU New Orleans and will partner with Good Morning Washington anchors Autria Godfrey and Larry Smith, meteorologists Eileen Whelan and Veronica Johnson, Julie Wright on traffic, and Kidd O’Shea with entertainment news.

Prior to New Orleans, Hopkins worked at WSVN Miami, WHAS Louisville, Ky., and WGXA Macon, Ga.  She began her career behind the scenes in the consumer investigative unit at WRAL Raleigh, N.C.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from The University at North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
