WJXT Jacksonville Expands Its News Staff

Bob Ellis, GM of Graham Holdings’ independent WJXT Jacksonville, Fla. (DMA 48), announced Friday the expansion of his station’s evening news.

Reporter-anchor Tarik Minor and reporter-anchor Kent Justice will join Tom Wills, Mary Baer, Rob Sweeting and Joy Purdy on weekday evening newscasts beginning Monday, June 1.

Minor moves from The Morning Show at 9 a.m. to co-anchor News4Jax at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. with Joy Purdy, and Justice moves from weekend evenings to work with Purdy weeknights on News4JAX at 11 p.m.

Thirty-year WJXT anchor Rob Sweeting will continue to anchor these newscasts as well on a limited basis and will focus more of his time on the community service aspect of his job.
