WJZY-WMYT Make Exec Appointments

Fox-owned duopoly WJZY (Fox) and WMYT (MNT) Charlotte, N.C. (DMA 25) today announced two executive appointments.

Jay Abbattista has been named vice president director of sales and Lynda Grahl becomes vice president of finance, with both reporting to Karen Adams, the stations’ vice president and general manager.

Abbattista will oversee the stations’ sales initiatives. His first day at the station will be April 29. Previously, Abbattista was local sales manager for Fox’s Washington duopoly of WTTG-WDCA. Prior to that, he was the VP-general sales manager of WBRC Birmingham, Ala.

During his time with WBRC, Abbattista held several positions, including local sales manager and regional account manager. Earlier in his career, Abbattista held a variety of sales positions with Millennium Sales and Marketing. He began his career with Austin Kelley Advertising in Atlanta as a media promotions manager.

A graduate of Auburn University, he holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration.

Previously, Lynda Grahl was VP of finance for Fox’s WJBK Detroit, a position she has held since 2008. Prior to that, Grahl was director of finance there. Earlier in her career, she was the director of finance for Fox Sports Net Detroit. Before that, she spent four years as a business manager for WJBK.

A graduate of Madonna University in Livonia, Mich., she holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting.
