WKAQ Adds Weather Anchor Elizabeth Robaina

Telemundo-owned WKAQ San Juan, P.R., on Thursday name Elizabeth Robaina weather anchor for Telenoticias Fin De Semana, the station’s local weekend newscast that airs Saturday and Sundays at 5 and 10 p.m.

Robaina, whose first day will be Jan. 19, will join the Telenoticias Fin De Semana news team, which includes news anchor Robert Cortés and weather anchor Héctor Vázquez. Robaina will make her on-air debut on Telenoticias Fin De Semana at the end of this month.

Before joining WKAQ, Robaina worked as a weather anchor at WKAQ’s sister station, KTLM Harlingen-Weslaco-Brownsville-McAllen, Texas, since 2014. Before that, she worked for WAPA San Juan as a weather anchor. Born in Cuba, Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg,Texas.
