WLNE Sports Dir. Ken Bell Retires After 35 Years

Ken Bell, sports director of Citadel Communications-owned ABC affiliate WLNE Providence, R.I. (DMA 52), has announced his retirement after 35 years with the station.

Bell got his start in radio as a freshman at the University of Colorado. His senior year, he would land his first TV job as a weekend sportscaster in Denver. He then moved to Providence to work as a weekend sports anchor/reporter for WJAR. After two-and-a-half years he moved to Milwaukee where he would co-host PM Magazine. After three years in Milwaukee, he returned to Providence to become sports director at WLNE.

“I am grateful to so many for encouraging me and supporting me through the years. My thanks to all who have made this journey so meaningful,” Bell said.
