WMAQ Names Shannon Hammel Assistant ND
NBC-owned WMAQ announced today that Shannon Hammel will be joining the station as assistant news director. She comes from the NBC’s KXAS Dallas where she has been managing editor for the last five years and executive producer previous to that.
Prior to KXAS, Hammel worked at WCMH Columbus, Ohio, in executive producer and managing editor roles. She also worked at WILX Lansing, Mich., where she produced afternoon and late newscasts.
Hammel is a graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
