WMLW To Carry Two Gubernatorial Debates

Viewers in Milwaukee and Hispanic viewers throughout all of Wisconsin will have the opportunity to view both of the upcoming Wisconsin Broadcasters Association gubernatorial debates between Gov. Scott Walker and challenger Mary Burke on Weigel Broadcasting Group’s Milwaukee stations.

The first debate will air live at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, on WMLW.  The second debate, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, will air live on WMLW and Telemundo Wisconsin (WYTU-LP). There will also be select times that evening and weekend when other Weigel stations will air the debate on a delay.

“With the election less than a month away, it’s important that our viewers have the opportunity to hear from both candidates,” said Mark Strachota, GM of Weigel’s CBS affiliate WDJT. “We are also pleased that we can present this forum to the Hispanic community throughout Wisconsin by making the debate available on Telemundo Wisconsin.”

WDJT’s Mike Strehlow, anchor of the CBS 58 News at Noon, will be one of four panelists for the Oct. 17 debate.  The debates are sponsored by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation.
