WNBC, Cozi TV: OTA Viewers Need To Rescan

With NBC O&O WNBC New York and its diginet Cozi TV preparing to move their broadcast signals from the Empire State Building to One World Trade Center next month, viewers using an over-the-air antenna are reminded to rescan their televisions and secure the new frequency by April 2 to continue receiving WNBC and Cozi TV’s over-the-air programming without any interruptions. Viewers will continue to find WNBC on ch. 4.

This impending change will not impact viewers using cable, satellite or on-line digital platforms such as the NBC 4 New York mobile app.

“Rescanning your television is easy and only takes a few minutes. We have made the process clear and easy to understand. We are also making additional information available on-air, on-line and over the phone,” said Eric Lerner, WNBC president-GM.

Viewers can visit NBCNewYork.com/rescan to access a “how to rescan your television” video tutorial, step-by-step instructions and troubleshooting information.

Viewers can also contact WNBC’s customer service at 212-664-5520 with any questions (phone lines are open during regular business hours). Through April 2, WNBC and Cozi TV will continue airing public service announcements on their broadcast and digital platforms to alert viewers to the impending change and the need to rescan their televisions.

NBC says WNBC and Cozi TV will reach an additional one million over-the-air users following their move to One World Trade Center, including in South and Central New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania and the Hudson Valley.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

They will also join sister station WNJU (Telemundo) at One World Trade Center. WNJU activated its new, over-the-air transmitter in June 2017.

Let’s hope that they learned from WCBS (and 9/11) and keep their current tower as their backup.

No, the Empire State Building will no longer be used by NBC. WNBC’s backup is currently located in W. Orange, NJ.

And, WCBS having the ESB as its backup after 9/11 was by sheer accident. Someone at WCBS forgot to exercise its leases’ cancellations!

I do accept as true with all the ideas you have presented
for your post. They are very convincing and can certainly work.
Still, the posts are too brief for novices. May just
you please extend them a bit from next time? Thanks for the
post.
