WNWO Toledo Gets The WeatherBug
Barrington Broadcasting’s NBC affiliate WNWO Toledo, Ohio (DMA 70) has added Earth NetworksSM’s WeatherBug service, giving the station access to cameras at local schools and public buildings to provide up-to the-minute weather information.
The partnership makes WNWO the only station in the Toledo region to use detailed forecasts and high-definition images from various WeatherBug Weather Stations, including one at the Maritime Academy of Toledo. WNWO also has access to more than 8,000 weather stations across the nation.
Joining WeatherBug’s network allows WNWO’s Chief Meteorologist Norm Van Ness and the entire WNWO team to incorporate live weather videos in their daily broadcasts. Weather condition details are also available to viewers 24/7 on WNWO’s website.
“Our viewers rely on us to provide accurate weather forecasts to help plan their day, and partnering with WeatherBug enables us to give them the most accurate visualization of weather possible,” said Van Ness. “We can now obtain clear, high-definition images from weather cameras to get an idea of weather conditions in our area and across the nation.”
