WNYW New York To Debut ‘Simone In The City’

The latest addition to Fox-owned WNYW New York (DMA 1) is Simone in the City, a 30-minute, weekly lifestyle and entertainment program hosted by entertainment reporter Simone Boyce. It will debut Aug. 1.

In this new weekend series (10 a.m. on Saturdays), Boyce will showcase all New York has to offer and explore the city’s top destinations and hidden gems. From rock climbing in the Monhonk Mountains, to canoeing in the Gowanus Canal, to throwing the perfect Hampton’s party, Boyce will introduce viewers to interesting and inspiring people and places.

She will take New Yorkers on her ride as she attempts stand-up comedy with some coaching from Michelle Buteau (co-host of VH1’s Big Morning Buzz), jet-skis through Rockaway beach, fishes off the coast of Long Beach and visits some of the city’s best eateries.

WNYW VP-GM Lew Leone said: “Simone is unique, likeable and always up for a challenge. I think viewers will enjoy her New York exploits while she discovers exciting things to do in this great state.”

Boyce added: “Simone in the City is my love letter to New York. It’s an intimate look at the people and places that inspire and challenge me. I hope our audience has as much fun watching it as I do producing it.”
