WOIO Reporter In Cosmo Hottest Bachelor Search

Chris Van Vliet, entertainment reporter at Raycom’s CBS affiliate WOIO Cleveland, Ohio (DMA 18), has been chosen by Cosmopolitan magazine to represent Ohio in its annual bachelor search. Cosmo’s November issue (on newsstands Tuesday, Oct. 11) showcases the hottest bachelors from across the country.

Cosmo editors searched for months on behalf of millions of “fun and fearless females,” to find America’s “hottest, most eligible bachelors.” After considering thousands of candidates all across the state, the editors named Van Vliet Ohio’s Bachelor of the Year.

“Cosmo? I’m shocked, surprised and totally humbled!” the 28-year-old face of The Buzz said.

What’s next for Chris? He’ll compete against other eligible bachelors from each of the remaining states and Washington, D.C. Readers can go online at cosmopolitan.com/bachelors-2011 to vote for Chris from now until Oct. 16. The 10 bachelors with the most votes will be named semifinalists, and a panel of Cosmo editors will crown one lucky man to be Bachelor of the Year and receive $10,000.

If Chris wins the grand prize, he says he plans to donate the money to charity. “I think it’s a great way to show Cleveland my admiration and support,” Chris says. “Sure, we could all use the money — but the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland really deserve it.”
