WPEC West Palm Beach Debuts 9 A.M. News

With the addition of this hour-long broadcast, the Sinclair CBS affiliate raises its weekly news total to 42 hours a week.

Sinclair-owned CBS affiliate WPEC West Palm Beach, Fla. (DMA 38) introduced CBS12 News at 9 on Jan. 11.  The hour-long morning newscast is anchored by veteran broadcasters Suzanne Boyd and Eric Roby.

The station says the new show includes a strong interactive component. In addition to breaking news, weather and live events, there will be several new, unique segments that WPEC says “will engage viewers and bring them right into the conversation.”

“We’ll be delivering today’s big stories and weather. In addition, we’re giving viewers a voice in the conversation” said Mike Pumo, WPEC general manager. “We’re excited to expand the CBS12 News brand to an additional hour, demonstrating our strong commitment to being the source for news around the clock.”

The expansion of CBS12 News to 9 a.m. will bring WPEC‘s weekly news production to 42 hours per week.
