WPIX To Air 3 Primetime NFL Games In October

Tribune Broadcasting’s CW affiliate WPIX New York, today announced that it has reached an agreement with NFL Network for the over-the-air local broadcast rights to the NFL Network Thursday Night Football game between the New York Giants at Chicago Bears on Oct. 10.

WPIX will air the primetime showdown starting at 7:30 p.m. with a locally produced pre-game show before the game. The game will be called by the NFL Network announcing team of play-by-play announcer Brad Nessler and game analyst Mike Mayock.

WPIX has also reached an agreement through WABC New York with ESPN for the over-the-air local broadcast rights to two Monday Night Football games: New York Jets at Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 7 and New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 21.

At 8 p.m., WPIX will air a locally produced pre-game show prior to both games. Play-by-play commentator Mike Tirico, analyst Jon Gruden and sideline reporter Lisa Salters will call both games.
