WPTA Adds Teekaram As Morning Anchor

Quincy Media’s NBC/ABC affiliate WPTA Fort Wayne, Ind. (DMA 111), has hired Julian Teekaram as co-anchor on Fort Wayne’s NBC News Today, effective immediately.

Teekaram assumes her new role from the position of weekend anchor/reporter at the station’s ABC affiliate news operation that sister station aABC21ABC21 –

At a post she has held since October 2016. She joined the station earlier that same year as a reporter, before receiving a promotion.

Julian is a former morning anchor at WLIO nearby Lima, Ohio, but her roots run deep in northeastern Indiana, where she attended Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne before graduating with a degree in telecommunications and journalism from Ball State University.

Teekaram will anchor alongside Pauleen Le each weekday morning. They are joined by meteorologist Yasser Kishk and reporter Kent Hormann, who is live from the field each day.
