WPTA Names Tom Powell As Evening Anchor
Quincy Media’s NBC affiliate WPTA Fort Wayne, Ind. (DMA 111), on Wednesday hired Tom Powell as its evening news anchor.
He joins the station from Quincy’s sister station WSJV South Bend, Ind., where he has been the prime anchor for five years.
He started his career as reporter at KSFY Sioux Falls, S.D., then spent eight years as a reporter and primary fill-in anchor at WREG Memphis.
“Tom’s presence is a cornerstone addition to the NBC news relaunch,” says WPTA VP-GM Merry Ewing. “Viewers are going to see an immediate and impactful difference with the new NBC this fall.”
