WPVI Presents ‘Summer Storms: Keeping You Safe’

For the first time, ABC O&O WPVI Philadelphia Action News meteorologists Cecily Tynan, Adam Joseph, Karen Rogers, David Murphy, Melissa Magee and Chris Sowers will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to put a live forecast on the air and stay ahead of summer storms.

Summer Storms: Keeping You Safe, will air June 18 at 7:30 p.m. The half-hour special will explore the technology that powers the station’s StormTracker6 Live Double Scan radar.

The show will also preview the upcoming hurricane season to see how it could affect the tri-state area and predict how many days temperatures will soar above 90 degrees.

Meteorologist Cecily Tynan will demonstrate how easy it is for drivers to be swept away in flood waters and show the best ways to escape a vehicle in an emergency.
